About This Plant

Sometimes called blue or woodland phlox, this spring ephemeral does well in shaded woodlands, particularly on hillsides. It spreads slowly via rhizomes and looks great in mass. While it seems to be deer resistant, rabbits like to nibble it. Its five petals, which vary in shades of blue, are notched slightly on the end. It grows best in soils with high organic matter.
