About This Plant

An array of light blue flowers tops this aster and serves as a food source for butterflies and bees. The flowers' yellow centers will turn maroon when mature. This aster makes an excellent cut flower and pinching it back makes a bushier plant. It prefers well-draining soils that are rich in organic matter. It does well in part shade conditions and could be considered aggressive in some landscapes as it readily self-seeds.
