About This Plant

Though not the best choice for a small home garden due to its tendency to spread, Gray Goldenrod is perfect for meadow plantings or renaturalizing a larger garden. Flowers can be cut before going to seed to prevent some spreading. It does best in full sun and does not tolerate full shade. It is a hardy plant in terms of soil, and can grow in a variety of conditions and moistures. In the wild, it's often found in old fields, pastures, and roadsides. Gray Goldenrod is one of the smallest in the Solidago genus.
