About This Plant

A spring ephemeral, this plant emerges and completes its life cycle before the forest trees fully leaf out. Named Dutchman's breeches for the pantaloon-like blossoms that attract queen bumblebees. Water droplets will bead on its delicate, fern-like foliage. It prefers soils that is rich in organic matter.
