A great, hardy and adaptable host plant for numerous butterflies and moths, the bright yellow flowers of this plant are especially attractive to bumblebees. It will form a round-bush, unless pruned in early spring to keep it more compact.
Although shrubby St. John’s wort is used in some medicinal settings, it has mild poison characteristics and can reduce the effectiveness of some prescription medicines.
