Indian Pink boasts bright red flowers with five petals that surround a yellow center. They are very attractive to hummingbirds, and make an eyecatching garden centerpiece. It prefers a shadier area, and does well in soil with high organic matter. It is considered endangered or imperiled in much of its native range.
Indian Pink contains a low severity poison that can cause dim vision, vomitting, and twitching if consumed in large portions. It does not cause contact dermatitis.
