About This Plant

An underappreciated plant, wild senna is a host plant for sulphur butterfly species and also attracts bumblebees, butterflies, and wild game birds, the latter of which eat its seeds, which ripen in long, black pea-like pods. Water beads on its leaflets, and some people plant it as a hedge. It's in the pea family and helps to fix nitrogen in the soil.
