About This Plant

Growing to about 3 to 6 feet tall, Swamp Rose does best planted in acidic, moist but well draining soils that are high in organic matter. It flowers best in full sun but will tolerate part shade as well. It will tolerate brief periods of flooding but does not grow in standing water. It produces fragrant, pink blooms that are attractive to pollinators and mature into rose hips that are edible to humans.
