About This Plant

Also commonly known as rose milkweed, this plant is a great showy specimen for moist areas. It grows best in soils with high organic matter. Unlike Asclepias syriaca (common milkweed), swamp milkweed grows in a more contained manner and will not spread rapidly. It also attracts many pollinators, including monarch butterflies, whose caterpillars seem to prefer this species.
