This submerged aquatic plant can be grown anchored or free-floating in full sun water gardens. It thrives in cool water and is best controlled by planting in submerged containers and by clipping stems as needed. Canadian Pondweed is easy to control in smaller water gardens, but not recommended for large ponds.
Canadian Pondweed is dioecious, with male and female flowers appearing on separate plants, but it also can reproduce asexually through vegetative fragments.
