About This Plant

An array of light blue flowers top this aster and serves a food source for butterflies and bees. The flowers' yellow center will turn maroon when mature. This aster makes an excellent cut flower and pinching it back makes a bushier plant. It does well in part shade conditions and could be considered aggressive in some landscapes as it readily self seeds. This plant was previously known by the latin name Aster cordifolium.
