About This Plant

A deciduous shrub in the bittersweet family, Eastern Wahoo gets its collection of interesting common names from its eye-catching pink fruits and bright display of autumn leaves. It is usually planted as a screening shrub or naturalized woodland settings. It prefers well draining but nutrient rich soils, with part shade as it does not do well in the bright, midday sun. Birds will eat the fruits and caterpillars are known to feed on the leaves.
