About This Plant

Watershield is an emergent aquatic plant with small lily pad-like leaves that float on the water’s surface. A long single root attaches it to the bottom, and its submerged parts are coated in jelly-like substance that prevents it from drying out. It can become weedy and emits chemical that can deter growth of other nearby aquatic plants.
