About This Plant
Cream-colored flowers dangle under a graceful, long arching stem in the spring and give way to small, dark blue fruits that appear under gold foliage in the fall. Adaptable to full sun or full shade, it seems to do best in shaded, moist, rich soils of woodlands. This plant spreads slowly and is great for home landscapes.

Solomon’s seal is so named as some think the scars on its rhizomes look like the old Hebrew seal of King Solomon. | Early herbalists believed that plants with jointed rhizomes, such as Solomon’s seal, were helpful in treating human joint disorders. | The plant can be aged by the number of stem scars on the roots with one per year.
