About This Plant

Sometimes known as Red Horse Chestnut, this small tree is not native to Pennsylvania, but it is to neighboring states Ohio and West Virginia, according to the USDA Plants Database. Unique, vertical panicles of red/orange, tubular flowers adorn this tree and attract hummingbirds. Red buckeye will grow best in soils with high organic matter.
