About This Plant
Prickly Pear is an evergreen cactus that grows in dry, sandy or rocky areas. Its round, green pads are flat and cushiony with reddish brown bristles. It sprawls readily in the right conditions, and produces yellow blooms followed by pink bulbous fruits.
