About This Plant

These brilliant red flowers, which open from the bottom to the top of the stem, attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and other pollinators to stream banks and rain gardens. The blooms last for several weeks, adding wonderful color to landscapes. While individual plants are short-lived and tend to behave as a biennial, lobelias readily self sow if the seed can contact soil and then grow quickly.
