About This Plant

A deciduous, mound-shaped suckering shrub in the maple family found in moist woodlands with rich soil. Blooms include tall, cylindric spikes of feathery flowers. Leaves turn from dark green to yellow green in fall. Does not tolerate dry conditions. Excellent along streams and ponds, hedges or under shade trees.
