About This Plant

Blue-eyed Grass is actually not a grass at all, but a member of the iris family. However, its narrow, sword shaped leaves give it a grassy appearance. In spring, it blooms blueish purple flowers with bright yellow centers which then turn to brown seed capsules in the fall. It spreads via rhizomes but the seeds can also be harvested and planted when the capsules darken and wrinkle.
