About Brandywine
The Brandywine Conservancy was founded in 1967 to protect and conserve the land, water, natural, and cultural resources of the Brandywine-Christina River Watershed and other selected regions. The Conservancy holds more than 510 conservation and agricultural easements and has facilitated the permanent preservation of over 70,200 acres of land in Chester, Delaware, and Westmoreland counties in Pennsylvania and in New Castle County, Delaware.

Through its preserves and other services, Brandywine Conservancy empowers people to positively impact the environment, conserving it for future generations.
The Conservancy is one of the two programs of the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art. Based primarily in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art preserves and promotes the natural and cultural connections between the area’s beautiful landscape, historic sites and important artists. In addition to the work of the Conservancy, the Brandywine Museum of Art features a renowned collection of American art, with particular strengths in the three generations of Wyeth artists, housed in a 19th-century Mill building with a dramatic steel and glass addition overlooking the banks of the Brandywine Creek. Together, the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art unites the inspiring experiences of art and nature, enhancing the quality of life in its community and among its audiences.
