About This Plant

This large tree is very valuable as a host and nectar plant for pollinators, a seed source for birds and small mammals, and a timber source. Showy, fragrant clusters of long, creamy yellow flowers eventually give way to pea-size nutlets that are consumed by wildlife. It has asymmetrical, heart-shaped leaves that are dark green on top and much lighter in color underneath.
