About This Plant

Black Gum is popular for its beautiful autumn folliage, that usually displays in bright reds and oranges. It is very attractive to pollinators as well, though its flowers are small and insignificant. Black Gum is dioecious, meaning male and female flowers grow on separate trees. It will produce black, berry-like drupes if female flowers are able to be pollinated. Many animals consume the fruits, making Black Gum popular among wildlife in general!
