About This Plant

With blooms worthy of its title as Pennsylvania's official state flower, Mountain Laurel is a beautiful addition to a naturalized or wooded area. It is sensitive to soil conditions, and will not do well in clay or wet soils. However, it will tolerate a wide range of light conditions. In the wild, it is found in woods, cool meadows, mountain slopes and acidic forests. Its attractive flowers and evergreen foliage provide year-round interest in the landscape.
