About This Plant

Arching branches give this shrub a rounded crown, and small, white, clustered flowers give way to dark blue 1/4" berry-like drupes that are consumed by birds. The leaves are coarsely toothed and are a shiny dark green above and lighter green underneath. The foliage is attractive in the fall. Arrowwood can sucker freely from its base and makes a good border plant or screen. Naturally found in areas of partial shade, it can tolerate full sun. It is also adaptable to a wide range of soil moisture from dry to moderately wet. It may be found along streambanks.
