About This Plant

Also called Common Witch Hazel, this pretty, hardy shrub blooms in the fall and produces fragrant, yellow flowers that look like fireworks falling from the branches. Seed capsules or nutlets will audibly pop and fling seeds up to 40 feet away. Birds will eat these seeds. It's a low maintenance shrub that's great in home landscapes.
